The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets enter National Signing Day 2012 in much the same predicament as last year: with lots of fast guys, but not much beef. Tech only boasts two offensive line commits, but at least has a reasonable assortment along the defensive line. Four-star DE Francis Kallon leads the way, joined by Alabama de-commit Justin Thomas, who came to Atlanta to play quarterback.
Signing Day could be a make-or-break day for Paul Johnson's latest class. Having just lost DE Junior Gnonkonde to UNC and DB Antonio Crawford to Miami, Tech is also in danger of dropping OL Will Adams to Auburn. The Jackets are down to 16 commits, and aren't in the running for very many more.
However, four-star DL Dalvin Tomlinson could save the day by choosing the Jackets over Alabama on the 8 a.m. hour of Good Morning Atlanta -- he's also keeping Georgia as an option, but hasn't taken an official visit there. Adams is also scheduled to announce his choice at 8:45 a.m. ET.
8: Tomlinson.
8:45 a.m.: Adams.
Noon: LB Beau Hankins. A three-star linebacker whose final visit was to Atlanta. Arkansas, UCF and others are in the running.
?: LB Harding Harper. While Tech insiders can't agree whether Harper was actually offered by the Jackets, he plays for the same high school as Hankins and is believed to be interested in accompanying his teammate to college. Also, I don't know when he announces, so you're wasting a lot of time by reading this blurb. I'm sorry.
