2012 Georgia Tech Football Schedule Could Be Released Monday

The ACC might possibly release its 2012 football schedule this week, as early as Monday. No, seriously you guys, they absolutely mean it (kind of) this time.

Georgia Tech's associate athletic director Wayne Hogan confirmed to the AJC that the Jackets had finished off their schedule by finding an opponent for the Sept. 8 date, but he ain't telling who. Tech was involved in one of two delays that's kept the ACC schedule at a Guns & Roses studio effort's pace this winter.

First, West Virginia backed out of a game with Florida State on Sept. 8 to join the Big 12, and then Georgia Tech's game against Virginia Tech was moved to Labor Day to accommodate TV requests, throwing a monkey wrench in their previous plans to play Middle Tennessee State the following week. GT preferred to play a FCS opponent on the short turnaround.

As of now, the Labor Day game at Virginia Tech is public, as is Tech's home game against BYU on October 27. The rest is a mystery, but maybe for not too much longer...
