2012 Georgia Tech ACC Football Schedule Released

After an almost interminable series of delays that resulted from the latest batch of conference re-alignment, the ACC finally released its 2012 football schedule Monday.

Once Georgia Tech's game against Virginia Tech was moved up to Labor Day for TV purposes, the Yellow Jackets held up the schedule's release so they wouldn't have to face Middle Tennessee State in a non-conference game the week after.

Instead, they moved the MTSU game to Sep. 29 while playing a home game against Presbyterian College, an FCS team from South Carolina, on Sep. 9.

  • Sept. 3 at Virginia Tech (Monday), ESPN, 8 pm
  • Sept. 15 VIRGINIA
  • Sept. 22 MIAMI
  • Oct. 6 at Clemson
  • Oct. 13 OPEN
  • Oct. 27 BYU
  • Nov. 3 at Maryland
  • Nov. 10 at North Carolina
  • Nov. 17 DUKE
  • Nov. 24 at Georgia
  • The curse of the even year strikes again for the Yellow Jackets, as they are playing Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Georgia on the road.

Their most intriguing home date could be their Oct. 27 non-conference game against BYU. The Cougars, despite becoming an independent after leaving the Mountain West in 2010, have been one of the most consistent non-AQ programs in college football under Bronco Mendenhall.

ACC football fans in the Atlanta area will be treated to two ACC/SEC clashes to open the season in the Georgia Dome, with NC State playing Tennessee on August 31 and Clemson facing Auburn on Sep. 1 as part of the Chick-fil-A Kickoff.
