Glen Rice Jr. Suspension Rolls Over To 2012 ACC Tournament

Georgia Tech guard Glen Rice Jr. still suspended through ACC tournament, according to head coach Brian Gregory.

The suspension of Georgia Tech guard Glen Rice Jr. is not stopping with the regular season, rather continuing into the 2012 ACC tournament, according to a report from the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Georgia Tech head coach Brian Gregory announced Rice's continued suspension during the ACC coaches teleconference.

Rice has not played in the last five games, since being suspended before the Virginia Tech game on Feb. 18, which the Yellow Jackets narrowly loss, 74-73.

Gregory has declined to go into detail as to why Rice has been suspended, saying it is an internal matter.

Prior to his suspension, Rice averaged 13 points and 6.7 rebounds a game for the Yellow Jackets.

"Our guys understood the challenge that was posed to us when the suspension happened, and I think our guys have responded pretty well." - Brian Gregory.

Georgia Tech is 2-3 in Rice's absence.

The Yellow Jackets match up with the Miami Hurricanes in the first round of the ACC tournament on Thursday.
