Maryland Vs. Wake Forest Final Score: Terrapins Advance With 82-60 Win

The opening game of the 2012 ACC men's basketball tournament started out as a close contest and ended up as a 20-point blowout. The No. 8 seed Maryland Terrapins opened up a big lead in the second half and coasted to an 82-60 win over the No. 9 seed Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Terps now keep their conference championship hopes alive for at least one more round.

Wake Forest kept the game somewhat close in the first half, only trailing by five points entering halftime. The Terps piled on 46 points in the second half.

Terrell Stoglin of the Terrapins led all scorers with 25 points, also picking up seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. Nick Faust added 19 points in the winning effort. On the Wake Forest side, Travis McKie put up 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Maryland will have a tougher time in the quarterfinals on Friday, as they go up against No. 1 seeds the North Carolina Tar Heels.
