ACC regular season champ North Carolina will open play in the 2012 ACC Tournament on Friday at noon when the Tar Heels take on Maryland. The Terrapins dumped Wake Forest in Thursday's opening round 82-60. Mark Turgeon was very pleased with his team's effort on Thursday.
"That's the best, most complete game we've played all year. We defended. We rebounded. We executed. We shared the ball." "We talked about just about dialing in and also having fun. I think the guys tried to have fun (Thursday). More importantly, they trusted their teammates on both ends of the floor. That's been a hard thing for us this year but (Thursday) we did it."

The Tar Heels are in search of a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament and can help strengthen their case with a strong showing in the conference tournament this weekend.
