The first-round of the 2012 ACC Tournament saw three of the four higher seeds advance to the quarterfinals with only Virginia Tech pulling off the upset. The Hokies came from behind to defeat Clemson to set up Friday's matchup with Duke.
Maryland, N.C. State and Miami all prevailed over lower seeds to advance to Friday's quarterfinals. The Terrapins will take on North Carolina in the first game on Friday and will be followed by the Virginia-NC State matchup. Duke and Virginia Tech open the evening session while Florida State and Miami wrap things up on Friday.
