Georgia Tech Football: White Team Prevails 31-7 In Annual Spring Game

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets put an exclamation mark on spring practice Friday night bringing things to a close with its annual spring game. The White team exploded in the second half to win 31-7.

The first-half was uneventful with the White team taking a 3-0 lead into the break on a David Scully field goal. Safety Corey Dennis started the scoring in the second-half by scooping up a fumble and returning it for a touchdown. From there the offense got in gear with each of the Yellow Jackets' three quarterbacks playing a role.

Tevin Washington led the White team to a 17-0 lead with a one yard touchdown run. Redshirt freshman Vlad Lee led the White team on its next drive mostly with his arm. Lee hit Deon Hill with a 47-yard pass to put the White team in business again. Later in the drive Lee hit Tony Zenon across the middle for a touchdown and a 24-0 lead for the White team.

Synjyn Days was questionable to play but ended up leading both teams in rushing with 79 yards on 15 carries. Davis scored the only touchdown for the Gold Team on a quarterback keeper to make the score 24-7. The White team answered back with another touchdown pass from Vlad Lee this time to senior Chris Jackson to make the score 31-7.

Washington rushed for 67 yards and threw for 46 more. Lee completed 9 of 17 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns in the game. Days was 5 of 15 passing for 71 yards and had that team-high 79 yards rushing.
