Georgia Tech Basketball Roster: Nate Hicks Transferring To Florida Gulf Coast

Georgia Tech center Nate Hicks is leaving the Yellow Jackets program and will transfer to Florida Gulf Coast University. Hicks will have to sit out next season due to NCAA Transfer rules but will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Hicks played sparingly for the Yellow Jackets in his first two seasons averaging just 8.6 minutes per contest. He averaged 1.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game over those two seasons. The signing of big man Robert Carter likely meant that Hicks' role would be reduced even further.

Hicks reportedly settled on Florida Gulf Coast are also considering Penn, Colgate and Stetson. At 6-foot-10, 218 pounds Hicks would be well served to work on adding weight to his slender frame. He appeared in just one of the Yellow Jackets' eight final games.
