Former Auburn offensive lineman and Pope High product Thomas O'Reilly transferred to Georgia Tech and officially enrolled on Wednesday. O'Reilly picked the Tigers over the Yellow Jackets originally but cited "playing opportunities and scheme changes" as his reasons for deciding to transfer.
O'Reilly will sit out the 2012 season and then have three years of eligibility remaining. At 6-foot-3, 325 pounds, he will fit nicely into Tech's picture on the offensive line starting next season. He is a former AJC Super 11 selection and the first to enroll at Tech since 2009.
O'Reilly's transfer continues a wave of good news for the football program who landed a commitment from 4-star offensive lineman Shamire Devine on Wednesday. Devine is regarded by many as the top offensive lineman in the state.
