2013 Georgia Tech Basketball Recruiting: Yellow Jackets Land Nation's No. 14 Prospect Solomon Poole

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets just landed one of the nation's top 2013 basketball recruits in Solomon Poole of Jacksonville, Fla. Poole is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound point guard and is ranked as the No. 14 player by Rivals. Other offers that Poole had came from Georgia, Louisville, Connecticut, Oklahoma State, Memphis and UCLA.

His decision came down between Georgia Tech and UCLA, and Solomon chose Georgia Tech because he wanted to play in the ACC, plus his brother is now at Georgia Tech:

"First of all, I picked Georgia Tech because I think ACC is the best conference for basketball," Poole told the AJC. "Also, my brother [Stacey Poole] is there. The program has a tradition of point guards going into the league, guys like Stephon Marbury and Mark Price.

"[Coach Brian Gregory] was real with me. He only told me what I needed to hear. He didn't give me a bunch of hype and tell me I was great just to get me to go to the program. I get along with all the coaches well there at Georgia Tech. And it's a solid educational school, one of the best in the country."

Here are highlights of Poole from his junior year of high school:
