Omoregie Uzzi Named To Outland Trophy Watch List, Ready For 2012 Season

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets guard Omoregie Uzzi has been out of action since the teams Sun Bowl appearance and also sat out spring practice due to various injuries. On Thursday, Uzzi announced that he is back and will be ready to play this season, and during his time off Uzzi has dropped down to 307 pounds and is looking good.

Uzzi was also named to the 2012 Outland Trophy watch list that is handed out to the nation's best interior lineman:

"I really appreciate the attention and support that people give me for [awards]," he said, "but I'm a guy that tries to take things step by step, little by little, one drill at a time, one play at a time, one series at a time and hopefully that'll turn into winning games, championships, all the things that we all want to get."

Uzzi earned a spot on the watch list for being a two-time All-ACC selection, and of the 71 players nominated he is one of 20 guards to be nominated.
