The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets picked up another recruit in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. dual-threat quarterback in Damon Mitchell. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder is ranked as a three-star and the No. 29 overall player out of New Jersey according to Rivals and 247Sports.
In addition to playing quarterback he also plays safety for his high school team, but he will be a quarterback for Georgia Tech. Mitchell held offers from over a dozen other schools such as Wisconsin, East Carolina, Iowa, Rutgers and others.
Mitchell decided on going with Georgia Tech because he said it felt right ($):
"I just knew that Georgia Tech was the place for me so I decided to commit and I am 100-percent committed to Georgia Tech, he said. "There are more opportunities at Georgia Tech than any school I've been to."
"I really clicked with everyone here and I love what Tech is doing and I also know that Coach Johnson is going to be here for a long time so that was a big factor for me too", he said.
Mitchell becomes Tech's No. 12 verbal commit for their 2013 class.
