Georgia Tech Football Preseason: Early Schedule Could Tell Tale For Jackets

The early part of Georgia Tech's 2012 schedule will go a long way in deciding whether or not the Yellow Jackets will be in contention for a spot in the ACC Championship game. SB Nation's Bill Connelly points out during his detailed review of the Yellow Jackets that a strong start could lead to a very satisfying season.

Georgia Tech's schedule over the first half of the season is fascinating. The Yellow Jackets start the season at Virginia Tech on Labor Day, play four straight home games (including interesting tilts versus Virginia and Miami), then play at Clemson on October 6. Any start between 6-0 and 2-4 is at least somewhat feasible, but if the Yellow Jackets can figure out a way to slip up only once in that span, then they will enter mid-October as the division favorites.

Virginia Tech is a tough way to start the season but the Yellow Jackets will likely be favored in each of the four straight home games. Which leads to the matchup with Clemson on October 6 where the Tigers no doubt will be looking for revenge after last season.
