Georgia Tech Football Preseason: Tevin Washington Entrenched As Quarterback

The opening days of preseason camp for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets could see a spirited competition at the quarterback position but backups Synjyn Days and Vad Lee face an uphill battle if they are to unseat incumbent Tevin Washington.

"It's pretty clear to me he's the leader on the team. I can see that," head coach Paul Johnson said.

Losing out on the quarterback position doesn't mean that Yellow Jackets fans won't be seeing a lot of Days however. The backup QB could play any number of a variety of positions including A-back, B-back and wide receiver. Days athleticism is just too big a weapon for the Yellow Jackets to leave on the sideline.

Days move could be made easier by a strong preseason camp from Vad Lee who is a better passer than Days. If Lee can solidify his position at backup quarterback then Johnson shouldn't have as many worries about getting Days on the field more. At any rate expect Georgia Tech to work Lee into some games this season as they continue to prepare for the future.
