Masters 2012: Bubba Watson Never Dreamed He Could Win

Bubba Watson dreamed of having a putt to win the Masters, but the ending never turned out the way it did on Sunday.

“I dreamed about it,” he said. “But in my dream I never made the putt.”

After defeating Louis Oosthuizen in a two-hole playoff to win the Masters, Watson broke down, crying for several minutes while being greeted by friends and family. Afterwards, that emotion came out again when he talked to reporters.

“This is the mecca. This is an honor and special privilege to put the Green Jacket on. It’s a special time, a special place."

While Oosthuizen was defeated in the playoff, his double-eagle on the second hold was the shot of the tournament, and afterwards, he joked about Watson's reaction to it.

“My first double-eagle ever,” Oosthuizen said. “Bubba said he wanted to come over and give me a high-five but thought it might not come off well. If he came over now, I’d probably knock him out.”
