The first golfers are back in the clubhouse in the first round of the 2012 Players Championship on Thursday, which is widely seen as the "5th major" on the PGA Tour.
Former Georgia Tech All-American Matt Kuchar is one of the early leaders, with a first-round score of -4, three shots behind Ian Poulter at -7. Stewart Cink, a Duluth native, is currently at E through six holes.
Almost all of the big names on the Tour are in Sawgrass this weekend for the TPC, which has the biggest payouts of the golf season.
Tiger Woods struggled Thursday, as the former world's No. 1 continues his recent run of bad luck in major tournaments. He finished the first round at +2, currently tied for 115. Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy are currently tied at -2 on the fifth hole of Day 1.
