Zach Johnson is now on top of the leaderboard at the second round of the Players Championship on Friday, after Martin Laird spent much of the day with the advantage over the field, until he double bogeyed the 17th hold as his day was coming to a close.
Johnson shot an impressive 6-under par, 66 score for the day and is 8-under par with a combined score of 136 through the first two rounds of the tournament. Trailing right behind Johnson are seven players: Laird, Charlie Wi, Kevin Na, Jonathan Byrd, Brian Davis, Adam Scott, Harris English.
Former Georgia Tech All-American Matt Kuchar is 5-under par and shooting 1-under for the day, just through the first two holes.
