2012 U.S. Open: Michael Thompson Atop Leaderboard After First Round

The first round of the 2012 U.S. Open is in the books, and there are some notable names near the top of the leaderboard.

The most notable pairing of the first round was Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and former University of Georgia golfer Bubba Watson. Woods is -1, while Mickelson is +6 and Watson is +8.

As for some other players with Georgia ties, former Georgia Tech golfer Matt Kuchar and Georgia resident Jason Bohn are tied for seventh at even-par.
