Michael Thompson enters the second round of the 2012 U.S. Open with a three shot lead with a three-shot lead over five golfers including Tiger Woods. Thompson will get his round underway from the No. 9 tee at approximately 3:52 p.m. ET on Friday.
Woods will once again be joined by Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson when he tees off 4:18 p.m. Friday. Woods fired a 1-under, 69 on Thursday but both Mickelson and Watson struggled. Mickelson is 6-over after Thursday and Watson is even worse at 8-over. Both are going to need very good rounds on Friday to avoid missing the cut for the weekend.
Georgia Tech alum Matt Kuchar is tied for seventh place at even par and four shots off the lead entering Friday. Kuchar will hit the course at 11:21 a.m. ET on Friday.
