2012 British Open: Adam Scott's Collapse Gives Ernie Els His Second Open Championship

The final round of the 2012 British Open chewed up and spit out many of the PGA's brightest stars on Sunday. Tiger Woods shot a +3, Brandt Snedeker shot a +4 and Graeme McDowell shot a +5 on Sunday, all losing their chance to win the third major title of the year.

Of course, the biggest fall of grace was the tourney's leader coming into Sunday, as his +5 over in the final round opened the door for someone else to hoist that Claret jug. That somebody was Ernie Els.

Els won his second British Open on Sunday, as his final round score of -2 gave him a four-round score of -7 gave Els the victory. Scott's collapse will be a tough one to shake, but Els strong play will be remembered just as strongly.
