Hawks injury report: Mike Scott and Johan Petro miss practice

Atlanta Hawks rookie Mike Scott missed Tuesday's practice with the flu while Johan Petro missed his second straight practice.

Atlanta Hawks rookie forward Mike Scott missed Tuesday's practice with the flu and center Johan Petro missed his second straight day due to a back injury.

Scott reported to practice but was sent home due to his symptoms. The Hawks selected Scott in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft with the 43rd overall pick out of Virginia. During the preseason Scott averaged 9.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per game. Scott lead UVA to the NCAA tournament last season, averaging 18.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.

Petro is entering his eighth season in the NBA, but his first with Atlanta. He only played in three preseason games this year, where he averaged 2.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 11.7 minutes per game. Last season he averaged 4.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game with New Jersey.

The Hawks open their season against the Rockets on Friday, Nov. 2.
