SB Nation released its weekly NBA power rankings Monday and the Atlanta Hawks are right toward the middle of the list.
The Hawks come in at No. 16 with a 4-4 record. It's an improvement from last week's power rankings, which had the Hawks rank at No. 18.
Here's what Seth Rosenthal had to say about the Hawks:
It seems like it'll take much longer for the Hawks to figure out their rotations and general pecking order (hawks don't really have pecking orders, so this will be tough). At least they're still playing decent defense in the meantime.
Atlanta hasn't found much of a groove this season. The Hawks have yet to win back-to-back games this season. They are coming off a 112-96 win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies are the No. 1 team on SB Nation's power rankings. The Grizzlies bumped up to No. 1 after being No. 3 last week. Memphis is 8-1 this season.
The Los Angeles Clippers are the No. 2 team, checking in with a 7-2 record. They also bumped up two spots from No. 4.
The New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder round out the top five. The Spurs were the No. 1 team last week while the Miami Heat, the defending NBA champion, rank No. 6.
