The Atlanta Hawks are just 1-1 this season so far, but their record is good enough to check in at No. 6 in the SB Nation NBA power rankings.
Here's what Seth Rosenthal had to say about the Hawks:
Al Horford has risen, and the Hawks looked a lot better when they featured him against the Thunder. It'll be important to keep him fed inside once Josh Smith is back on the floor.
The Hawks beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, 104-95, but lost to the Houston Rockets, 109-102, this week.
Here's how the top five shakes out in the poll:
- San Antonio SPurs
- Miami Heat
- Los Angeles Clippers
- Oklahoma City Thunder
- New York Knicks
Lou Williams is leading the Hawks in scoring. He's averaging 20.5 points in both games. Josh Smith, who didn't play against the Thunder, scored 18 points and hauled in 10 rebounds against the Rockets.
Atlanta has two games this week before four more next week. The Hawks will host Indiana on Wednesday and then defending champion Miami on Friday. Next week, all four games are on the road, starting with the Clippers on Sunday.
