The Atlanta Hawks only play once this upcoming week due to the Christmas holiday, and host the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. The Hawks, who sit in second place in the Southeast Division at 16-9, ended their brief two game losing streak by beating the Bulls on Saturday night, and have a few days off to rest before they take on the Pistons.
The Pistons have won two games in a row, but are still only 9-21 on the season. Also, both of those wins came over the Washington Wizards, who are the worst team in the NBA at 3-22. Josh Smith and Al Horford will have a tough job guarding Greg Monroe, but Monroe is basically Detroit's only significant offensive weapon at this point.
Elsewhere in the league, the Christmas day schedule is loaded, as per usual. The New York Knicks travel to LA to take on the Lakers, and Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat face off for an NBA Finals rematch. On Thursday night, the Celtics head to Los Angeles to face the Clippers.
