Lewis Preston To Be Named Kennesaw State Basketball Coach, According To Reports

Lewis Preston will be named the next coach of the Kennesaw St. Owls basketball program, according to reports from Pennsylvania's The Patriot-News and elsewhere. Preston is currently employed as the Penn St. Nittany Lions assistant coach.

If hired as expected, this will be Preston's first head coaching gig. He's previously coached under Billy Donovan with the Florida Gators. Before that he coached with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and at Coastal Carolina, playing his college ball at VMI.

He'll reportedly receive a raise into the upper $100s.

KSU let go of 2004 Division II national championship winner Tony Ingle shortly after the 2011 Atlantic Sun Tournament concluded due to academic concerns. New athletic director Vaughn Williams from UConn has stressed the importance of making academics a priority throughout each athletic program.
