New Kennesaw St. Owls basketball coach Lewis Preston has coached Al Horford, Joakim Noah, Corey Brewer, Marreese Speights, and other NBA-bound big men in his day, with Florida Gators star Horford being perhaps the most prominent. The Atlanta Hawks All-Star was asked for his thoughts on Preston taking over at KSU:
He is a hard worker and has a lot to offer. He is a great teacher of the game and there is no doubt that his players will learn to play basketball the right way.
During Preston's time in Gainesville, the Gators won two straight national championships, the only two such titles in school history. Tim Tebow also won a Heisman Trophy. Soon as Preston left: Steve Addazio. Coincidences? There are only so many ways we can look at this, folks.
