NASCAR At Texas Update: Matt Kenseth Leads, Title Contenders Carl Edwards And Tony Stewart In Top Five

April Texas winner Matt Kenseth is out front at the AAA Texas 500 just past the 30-lap mark of the 334-lap event. Kenseth overhauled teammate Greg Biffle, who started from the pole and led the opening 23 laps of the race, to move out front.

Biffle runs second, ahead of championship challengers Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards. Southern 500 winner Regan Smith rounds out the top-five, ahead of Unadilla's David Ragan. The remainder of the top-10 is comprised by Kasey Kahne, Marcos Ambrose, Clint Bowyer, and Paul Menard. Michael McDowell, who is driving Kyle Busch's machine after the latter was parked for today's race, is shown in 33rd position after starting at the rear of the field.

As they run, Stewart has knocked one point off his eight-point margin to Edwards.

Five drivers - Scott Speed, Josh Wise, Mike Skinner, Joe Nemechek, and J.J. Yeley - are already out of the race after "starting and parking."
