Jeff Gordon hasn’t won since April 2009 at Texas Motor Speedway, but his Chevrolet has been dominant for much of today’s race. With 40 laps remaining, Gordon leads Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, and Jeff Gordon and appears destined to end a career-high 66-race winless drought.
Busch has rebounded from his earlier incident with Carl Edwards and is almost matching Gordon on lap times, but Gordon continues to inch away as the laps click off.
One pit stop remains for the leaders, which very well could decide who wins today’s race. Gordon and Busch’s pit crews have been solid, as has Stewart’s. Harvick had a slow stop early in the race, while Johnson lost several positions on the most recent pit stop, falling from second to just inside the top-ten.
