Martin Truex Jr. Leads At One-Quarter Distance Of Jeff Byrd 500

After 125 laps, Michael Waltrip Racing driver Martin Truex Jr. holds the top spot in the Jeff Byrd 500.

Truex overhauled Busch at lap 90 to put his No. 56 Toyota out front, the first time he has ever led at Bristol in Sprint Cup competition. He won his first Nationwide race here in 2004.

Busch maintains second ahead of Jimmie Johnson.

Paul Menard has looked strong early after rolling off from the fourth position. He overhauled Carl Edwards to take the early race lead and held it until the competition caution on lap 50. David Gilliland assumed the lead during that caution by not pitting. His Richard Childress Racing teammate Jeff Burton, however, has experienced another miserable day, having a flat tire and then a loose wheel drop him off the lead lap.

Local favorite and Daytona 500 champion Trevor Bayne was involved in a multi-car accident triggered by a stackup following Burton's flat tire. The Knoxville native runs just outside the top-20 as a result.
