Jeff Byrd 500: Jimmie Johnson Leads Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick With 100 Laps To Go

Jimmie Johnson has led the most laps in today's Jeff Byrd 500, and the defending race winner is 100 laps away from his second consecutive spring Bristol victory.

Kyle Busch, who has won the last four NASCAR-sanctioned races at Bristol and three of the last four Sprint Cup races - Johnson's win last year being the exception - runs second, with Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, and Kurt Busch rounding out the top-five.

Barring a caution flag, teams will have to pit with around 20 to 30 laps to go for fuel.

Greg Biffle just overhauled Busch to take over the fifth position. His best finish of the 2011 season is 20th. He is doing a good job of keeping his Chase hopes, already in serious trouble after three races, alive with his performance today.

Conversely, Jeff Burton's Chase hopes are officially on life support after a miserable day. He is mired two laps down, deep in the field.
