Aside from a short period where Penske teammates Brad Keselowski and Kurt Busch ran first and second, it's been an all-Roush-Fenway Racing day thus far. That trend continues as Matt Kenseth leads the Samsung Mobile 500 after 70 laps. Greg Biffle runs second, followed by polesitter David Ragan. Carl Edwards holds down the sixth spot.
Two other Fords, the Richard Petty Motorsports cars of Marcos Ambrose and A.J. Allmendinger, also hold top-ten spots.
As good as Roush-Fenway is performing, Hendrick Motorsports is struggling almost as much. Dale Earnhardt Jr. leads the way in 12th, while Jimmie Johnson runs 17th. Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon both run outside the top-20.
Pit road has been hazardous thus far. After David Gilliland's heavy crash at lap 46, Joey Logano and David Reutimann made hard contact as they were trying to get off the pit lane. On the first yellow of the race, Tony Stewart damaged his Chevrolet after running into Dave Blaney.
