As with every NASCAR Sprint Cup race week, there are a number of driver appearances in the North Georgia area this week leading up to the Atlanta Motor Speedway race weekend. While we at SB Nation Atlanta will try to keep you as up to date as possible on appearances that might be coming near you, your best bet will be to check the websites of your favorite drivers.
Fans can meet defending Advocare 500 champion Tony Stewart on August 31 at the Roswell Office Depot at 1580 Holcomb Bridge Road, where he will be signing autographs for the first 400 fans in line as part of the store's grand re-opening. A wristband is required to get an autograph, and those will be distributed starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Fans must be in line no later than 5 p.m. to get Stewart's signature, but the popularity of the two-time Sprint Cup champion makes arriving very early a good idea.
The next day, Kyle Busch - the current No. 1 seed for the Chase for the Sprint Cup and a former AMS winner - will be appearing at the Walmart in Griffin as part of Walmart's partnership with NASCAR. Several show cars and simuators - including Busch's No. 18 M&Ms Toyota and a five-seat Coca-Cola simulator - will be on hand. Kyle will meet fans from 4-6 p.m. and there is no wristband requirement. NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Eric McLure will also be appearing at a Walmart, this time in McDonough on September 2.
Brad Keselowski, the hottest driver on the Sprint Cup circuit, will be meeting fans at a Discount Tire store September 1 in Peachtree City. Keselowski, the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion, has won two of the last four Sprint Cup races and recorded a worst finish of third in that span, making him one of the favorites to challenge Jimmie Johnson's championship reign this fall.
There will be several appearances at the track, including events at the Coca-Cola Fan Stage. Stay tuned to SB Nation Atlanta for updates on times and drivers appearing.
