Kobalt Tools 400 Results: Tony Stewart Gets First Las Vegas Win

Tony Stewart dominated Sunday's Kobalt Tools 400 but had to hold off Jimmie Johnson on two late restarts to grab his first-ever win at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It is the defending Sprint Cup champion's first win of the season, the 45th of his career, and marks his 14th-straight season - every season he's been in the Cup series - with a victory in the Sprint Cup Series.

Johnson finished second, followed by Greg Biffle, Ryan Newman, and Carl Edwards. Clint Bowyer stretched his fuel to finish sixth, ahead of Paul Menard, Jamie McMurray, Trevor Bayne, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt led much of the race's early stages but could never get back to the front after losing track position on a cycle of pit stops.

Polesitter Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth tangled on the last restart, smacking the wall exiting turn two. Kahne recovered to finish 19th, while Kenseth was 22nd, the last car to complete all 267 laps.

Point leader Denny Hamlin had a miserable day, finishing 20th, and gives up the point lead to Biffle who finished third for the third-straight week.
