Jimmie Johnson Takes Us Along For The Ride At Pocono

Want to know what it's like to ride in a NASCAR Sprint Cup stock car? Want to know what 800 horsepower sounds like? Then take a ride with the clip below. And this isn't just any clip with any driver, and it isn't some cheap, underpowered show car that he's driving for kicks on some test track somewhere. That's five-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, winner of two of the last three races (and the Sprint All-Star Race in that span as well), testing Wednesday afternoon at the Pocono Raceway. And that snarling, monstrous sounding beast you hear? That's the same No. 48 Chevrolet Johnson will be racing in Sunday's Pocono 400. Turn your speakers up as loud as you can take it, sit back, and get ready for a pure adrenaline rush.

Ah, what a beautiful sound.

Johnson is a very fan-friendly champion - so long as you're not a jackass to him - and one of many drivers who interacts with race fans and tries to bring them as close to the action as possible via social media. You can follow Johnson on Twitter and like him on Facebook.
