Darian Cooper, a three-star DT from Maryland, has reportedly picked Iowa over Georgia Tech, Michigan, and Michigan State. He visited the Yellow Jackets as recently as last month, and would’ve been a very valuable addition to Tech’s 2011 class, especially considering the attrition at defensive line this class has endured, but it’s not to be. He’s rated as the nation’s No. 33 defensive tackle.

Tyler Marcordes, a three-star ATH from Illinois, is the 19th member of the 2011 Georgia Tech football class. He was all-conference as both QB and LB in high school, but projects as a college LB, one of about eleventy thousand the Jackets are bringing on this year. His two other FBS offers were from Illinois and Northern Illinois. The Illini are coming up a lot in this list. Paul Johnson likes to recruit against Ron Zook, for some reason?

Three-star OG Shaq Mason, the state’s No. 13 player, joined the Jackets shortly after. He’s from Tennessee and was also recruited by Clemson and Tennessee.

ATH Corey Moore, a three-star from Troy, Alabama is also on board. And the final signing in Tech's 2011 class is three-star CB Domonique Noble of North Carolina.

The Stephon Tuitt story has come to a close for Georgia Tech, with the five-star DE’s letter of intent officially arriving via fax to Notre Dame, coach Brian Kelly announced on Twitter. Tuitt de-committed from Notre Dame to briefly join the Yellow Jackets 2011 class only to re-flip shortly after. Many had held out hopes he’d continue to flip, accidentally signing his name for Tech mid-flip, but that’s not the case. Moving on.

One guy Tech did land is Jamal Golden, who was named Alabama Player of the Year by several different services. A three-star ATH who had a few FBS offers, it’s not clear why he wasn’t a bigger deal, considering the awards he loaded up on in Alabama. He’s a three-sport athlete, who says the recruiting efforts of Tech baseball coach Danny Hall played a role in getting him to Atlanta. Rivals rates him as Bama’s No. 40 prospect.

There aren’t a lot of highlights out there (seriously, how far out is Wetumpka, anyway?), but he’s included in this video:

Three-star Albany OT Bryan Chamberlain is also on board, the state’s No. 87 player. He had no other FBS offers, but was recruited by Clemson, Georgia, and Louisville.

Three-star Carrolton RB Broderick Snoddy, the state’s fastest 100-meter runner, will likely play A-back at Georgia Tech. His two other FBS offers were from Ole Miss and Middle Tennessee. His 4.4 speed will be an asset for the Yellow Jackets, but he runs a little tougher than you’d expect from a track star. He’s also an experienced option runner who also got offers from schools like Georgia Southern.

Chaz Cheeks is a three-star DE from Gainesville who projects as an OLB. He was the state’s No. 86 prospect, offered by Ole Miss and N.C. State. I’m told he appears in this video, but I’m not plowing through all eight minutes of it to find out:

Jeff Greene, a three-star WR from Starr’s Mill who shares the name of a U.S. Senator or something, is a six-foot-six tower of a receiver. Also offered by eight other schools including Mississippi State, he’s the only WR expected to join the 2011 Georgia Tech football class on national signing day or otherwise.

Three-star North Carolina OLB Tremayne McNair’s letter of intent has reached the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on national signing day. Linebackers were a focus of this class, and they’re pouring in early. He’s rated as a three-star by Rivals, the No. 32 OLB in the nation. He had 11 FBS offers, including Arkansas, Clemson, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Chris Milton, a three-star ATH from Folkston, Georgia who’s expected to play A-back, signed up next. He’s ranked the state’s No. 32 player, with 14 FBS offers including Maryland, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Does South Carolina just offer everybody or what?

Trey Braun is also aboard, a three-star OT from Tallahassee who was offered by Arkansas, Illinois, UCF, and others. Braun is the first of four offensive linemen expected to join Tech’s 2011 class. Not a lot of drama here, as he’s been enrolled since January. Fun fact: he’s a high school heavyweight wrestling champ, ranked No. 1 in the state and finishing No. 3 in the nation at an AAU event.

Three more Georgia Tech football letters of intent have arrived on national signing day. Three-star Monroe ATH Demontevious Smith, who was originally suspected to be a buddy offer as a part of a Stephon Tuitt package deal. He’s a fine grab for the Yellow Jackets regardless of Tuitt’s status, as he had offers from five other FBS schools including Virginia Tech.

Nick Menocal, the nation’s No. 62 OLB from Miami, was a Miami Hurricanes commit until recent weeks. He’s rated as a three-star by Rivals with nine FBS offers. He was also a county track star in high school, a rare trait in a 235-pound athlete.

Another late flip, Anthony Harrell, joined Tech’s class after leaving Wake Forest’s just last night. He’s another three-star, rated as the nation’s No. 42 ILB.

Sean Tobin is a two-star long snapper from New Jersey who was also recruited by Virginia Tech. It’s good to have long snappers, y’all.

North Carolina QB Vad Lee is officially a member of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 2011 class, sending in his letter of intent just after 8 a.m. While Jabari Hunt-Days is the most highly touted member of the class, Lee has gotten the most attention.

He’s an athletic three-star quarterback who had offers to eight other schools, including Maryland, North Carolina, and N.C. State. Rivals rates him as the state’s No. 26 prospect.

Lee has been an active recruiter since committing to Tech, taking to Twitter and becoming a Yellow Jackets digital outpost, publicly commenting on the before and after of the Stephon Tuitt debacle with a smile. All while leading his high school team to a state title. Not bad.

With the de-commit of Airyn Willis, who was expected to play WR at Tech anyway, Lee is the only quarterback slated to sign in the 2011 class. He’s got some names ahead of him on the depth chart, but he’s a promising quarterback of the future for Yellow Jackets fans.

South Forsyth DE Kyle Travis has joined Georgia Tech’s 2011 football class, with his letter of intent arriving shortly before 8 am ET. He’s expected to play LB in college due to his smaller frame, which currently weighs about 235 pounds, but a shortage at defensive line could force him to bulk up and play with a hand in the dirt. He’s rated as a two-star by Rivals.

He was followed shortly after by Jabari Hunt-Days, the biggest name in Tech’s crop. The nation’s No. 11 outside linebacker and the state’s No. 15 prospect, he’s a six-foot-two, 226-pound powerhouse form Powder Springs (nice!). He had offers from 12 other FBS schools, including Auburn, Maryland, and South Carolina.

Tech has a whole heap of linebackers scheduled to join this class, and Hunt-Days is the most promising. Of course, Travis could end up playing linebacker too. Tech is wise to load up at the position in light of their ongoing 3-4 transition.

Georgia Tech football’s first 2011 National Signing Day letter of intent came from Peach State recruit Zach Laskey out of Fayetteville’s Starr’s Mill. He’s rated as a two-star RB by Rivals who also had offers from Air Force and Navy, making him among the most optionly players to sign this recruiting season. It’s easy to see why, too:

North Cobb safety Darren Waller was second. A three-star, he had offers from seven other schools including Illinois and Kentucky. Listed as six-foot-five with 4.4 speed (which sounds like Cooper Taylor math to me), Waller is a longtime Tech commit who’s been on board since summer. He also played wide receiver in high school, a talent that may serve him well as a member of a Tech class that’s recently lost some wide out talent.

The team doesn’t have as many running backs coming in as you’d expect, with seemingly dozens already on campus. Waller may be most needed at defensive back, with Jerrard Terrant’s choosing to join Mario Butler in the NFL Draft creating a need for more depth in the secondary.
