The Milwaukee Bucks made it to Atlanta, but just in time for a snow day. The NBA called off Tuesday's scheduled matchup between the Atlanta Hawks and the Bucks due to inclement weather in the Atlanta area. It was rescheduled for March 15.

Fans are advised to hold onto their tickets. It is unknown whether those tickets can just be used for the rescheduled game in March or if they can be used for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets or Monday's Martin Luther King Day game against the Sacramento Kings. Team officials are expected to make a decision later Tuesday.

Terrible weather has paralyzed the Atlanta metropolitan area dumping as much as eight inches of snow in some areas of the region. Officials in this warm weather Southern city have struggled to keep up with clearing icy roads and a backlog of accidents on the highways. Trucks and cars have had difficulty navigating icy patches on the local roads, causing miles and miles of backups on the region's interstates.

Although the temperature was hovering around the freezing mark midday Tuesday and primary roads were generally passable, there was a slushy mix on many of those streets, which was expected to turn to ice when the temperature dips into the teens once the sun goes down.

The Hawks held a shootaround earlier in the day, which was closed to the media. The team stayed huddled in downtown Atlanta waiting for the game and made plans to move up the departure time of the team's charter flight to Toronto once the game was cancelled. The Hawks take on the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night in Ontario.

The basketball game was not the only thing victimized by the wicked weather. The Atlanta Thrashers rescheduled their practice at the team's Duluth, Ga. practice rink for noon before postponing it due to the weather on Tuesday.

A car that Atlanta Falcons DE John Abraham's car was riding in skidded off of I-985 on Monday. Luckily, no one got hurt. Teammate Kroy Biermann, a Montana native, came to the rescue, towing the car out of the ditch with his bulky pickup truck. The Falcons have practiced inside this week ahead of their Saturday night matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The Milwaukee Bucks boarded a jet plane and made it into Atlanta ahead of their Tuesday night matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. That doesn't mean that the game will go on as scheduled.

The January snowstorm dumped over six inches of snow and a sheet of ice in some parts of the metropolitan area, causing numerous accidents and intermittent road closures. Many of those roads are expected to ice over on Monday night. If the roads do not improve, the game, which is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Philips Arena may be called off.

"While the #Bucks have arrived in ATL, a lot could depend on the overnight weather conditions and the roads regarding tomorrow's game," Thrashers spokesman Arthur Triche tweeted on Monday afternoon.

Should the game go on as planned, the Hawks will be looking to extend their home winning streak to 11 with a win over the Bucks. It is the third matchup of the year for Atlanta and Milwaukee. The two teams split the first two games, with Milwaukee posting a 108-91 win here on Nov. 10 and Atlanta taking a 95-80 decision at the Bradley Center on Dec. 27.

Atlanta won its ninth straight game over the Indiana Pacers with a 108-93 win on Saturday night. Josh Smith scored 14 of his game-high 27 points and Joe Johnson posted 24 for Atlanta, which never trailed en route to cruising to its eighth win in 10 games.

Milwaukee also emerged victorious in their last game, besting the lowly New Jersey Nets by a 115-92 score in Newark on Saturday. Chris Douglas-Roberts had 24 points off of the bench to help the Bucks snap a three game losing skid.
