The Braves ended Spring Training on a losing note, dropping the final spring game to the Twins, 2-0.

The game was a pitcher's duel throughout, despite several pitchers appearing. Brandon Beachy pitched four shutout innings on five hits - all singles - no walks and five strikeouts. Beachy dominated for much of spring camp and is entering the season at a high.

Rodrigo Lopez pitched three scoreless innings before allowing two runs in the eighth. Doubles by Jason Repko and Jason Kubel scored one, followed by a single from Brian Dinkelman that brought home the second run. Otherwise, Lopez pitched perfectly, not allowing any other hits and no walks while striking out five. Two solid efforts on the mound for the Braves.

Unfortunately, the Twins did even better. Scott Baker pitched five shutout innings on three hits, one walk and four strikeouts. Freddie Freeman doubled in the first and Martin Prado did the same in the third for the only threats.

Glen Perkins, Kevin Slowey, Carlos Gutierrez and Andrew Baldwin combined for four scoreless innings behind Baker.

The Braves managed just five hits offensively. Two were the mentioned doubles by Freeman and Prado that led to nothing. Tyler Pastornicky and J.C. Boscan each singled and walked. Other than that, nothing to report.

Kubel and Dinkelman recorded the two RBI for the Twins. Denard Span added two singles.

And with that, Spring Training is history. The Braves travel to Washington to play the Nationals Opening Day on Thursday, starting at 1:05. Derek Lowe faces Livan Hernandez.

After an exciting, walkoff finish against the Twins Tuesday, in which Mauro Gomez hit a game-winning home run in the 10th inning, the Braves return to action against Minnesota Wednesday in the final Spring Training game. Game time is scheduled for 12:05.

Braves Lineup:
1. Martin Prado, 3B
2. Nate McLouth, CF
3. Freddie Freeman, 1B
4. Eric Hinske, DH
5. Brooks Conrad, 2B
6. J.C. Boscan, C
7. Matt Young, LF
8. Joe Mather, RF
9. Brandon Hicks, SS
Brandon Beachy, SP

Twins Lineup:
1. Denard Span, CF
2. Tsuyoshi Nishioka, 2B
3. Justin Morneau, 1B
4. Jim Thome, DH
5. Delmon Young, LF
6. Michael Cuddyer, RF
7. Danny Valencia, 3B
8. Drew Butera, C
9. Alexi Casilla, SS
Scott Baker, SP

The Braves are using a makeshift lineup of role players and fringe players in the final tuneup of 2011. Only Prado, McLouth and Freeman are the regulars in the lineup, as well as Beachy, who was named the fifth starter.

After those four, the players in the lineup who will be on the 25-man roster are Hinske, Conrad, Young and Hicks.

Rodrigo Lopez is scheduled to throw after Beachy, supposedly around four innings for each.

The Twins are using a more normal lineup in the spring finale, throwing most of the regulars in the starting order. A few, such as Morneau, seem to be needing it as they have had less than stellar springs. Baker is on the mound for the Twins.
