The Atlanta Dream used a balanced offensive attack combined with some tight defense to take down the Eastern Conference leading Indiana Fever 84-74 at Philips Arena. Atlanta wins their second game in a row and moves them to within 1.5 games of the Chicago Sky for the last playoff spot in the East.

Lindsey Harding picked up the slack for an Atlanta team that used a balance attack to turn back the Fever. Harding finished with 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Angel McCoughtry spent most of the afternoon saddled by foul trouble but still contributed 15 points to go along with five steals. Erika de Souza logged a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

All-Star forward Tamika Catchings scored a game-high 22 points while Erin Phillips added 21. Jessica Davenport rounded out Indiana's players in double figures with 12.

This win is easily Atlanta's most impressive this season and have the opportunity to end the first half on a high note with a victory in Washington tomorrow.

Lindsey Harding has 10 points in three assists helping the Atlanta Dream to a 44-36 lead over the visiting Indiana Fever. Atlanta's defense has gotten stingy once again holding the Fever to just 31 percent shooting in the first half.

Angel McCoughtry has eight points, three rebounds and three steals for Atlanta in the first half before leaving late after picking up her third personal foul. McCoughtry was whistled for her third foul with Atlanta up 38-22. With her on the bench for the remainder of the half, Indiana closed the gap to as close as 42-36 with just over a minute to play.

Erika de Souza finished the half with seven points, seven rebounds, and three blocks while Allison Bales and Armintie Price each netted six.

Tamika Catchings leads Indiana with 11 points and four rebounds but Atlanta has made her work for every bucket. Catchings is just 3-12 from the field but made up for it by going 5-5 from the charity stripe. Erin Phillips joins Catchings in double figures with 10 points at the half.

The Eastern Conference leading Indiana Fever pay a visit to Philips Arena to take on the Atlanta Dream in a Tuesday afternoon game. The game tips off at Noon with the Fever coming in having lost two games in a row most recently to the Connecticut Sun 76-71 on Sunday.

The game features a match up of Eastern Conference All-Star forwards in Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry and Indiana's Tamika Catchings. McCoughtry is averaging 16.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season. Catchings is currently scoring at a 14.2 clip and grabbing eight rebounds per outing. Catchings was the top vote getter in the East capturing more than 20,000.

After a slow start to the season, McCoughtry had one of her best games of the year in Saturday's victory over the Chicago Sky. She finished with 24 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Like her Atlanta teammates, it was McCoughtry's defense that ignited her offense.

For much of this season, Atlanta has been one of the worst defensive teams in the WNBA. Even after their good performance on Saturday they are still yielding 83 points per contest. It is important for the Dream to turn defense into offense and to set a quick pace today against the Fever.

Atlanta is still a banged up team as both Sancho Lyttle and Coco Miller sat out Saturday's win and are considered day to day. Miller twisted her ankle during Saturday morning's shootaround while Lyttle has been sidelined with a sore back.
