<p>Georgia State football found their running game in Orangeburg, SC but three interceptions doomed the Panthers as they fell 23-13. </p>
<p>Playing without starting QB Drew Little, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.georgiastatesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=205317149&DB_OEM_ID=12700">head coach Bill Curry and the Panther coaching staff made a decision to focus on the running game</a>:</p>
<blockquote>
<p><font size="2">"Today we had to play without <span class="biolink">Drew Little</span>, so we relied on our other quarterbacks and tried to go with what they do well. But we're not going to use injuries as an excuse."</font></p>
</blockquote>
<p>Bo Schlechter got his fourth start this year and was intercepted on his first pass of the day which set the tone for a very poor passing day. Schlechter finished the day 4/11 for 52 yards and two interceptions. QB Kelton Hill, primarily used as a Wildcat option, was 1/7 passing for 15 yards. </p>
<p>Georgia State rushed 45 times for 2544 yards and a touchdown. It's safe to say that the Panthers have finally found their identity for the rest of the season.</p>
<p>The Panthers defense played very well allowing only 114 yards and three points through one half. Georgia State opened the second half with consecutive first downs before WR Albert Wilson was intercepted on a trick play giving the Bulldogs momentum that they would never relinquish.</p>
<p>Georgia State celebrates Homecoming next Saturday facing South Alabama at 3pm in the Georgia Dome.</p>

<p>Georgia State football travels east looking for a much needed win. Can the Panthers stop SC State's vaunted rushing attack?</p> <div>Georgia State football returns to the Carolinas again seeking a road win and some consistency. The Panthers have one road win in their program's history and that was a 2010 victory over Pioneer League foe Campbell. The opponent this week is the South Carolina State Bulldogs who also seek consistency. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Georgia State enters Orangeburg, South Carolina with a record of 1-4 and is in the midst of a program-first four-game losing stretch. Drew Little is entrenched at quarterback and the team is hoping to have all five offensive lineman healthy and ready to go for the first time in 2011. The defense has prepared all week for the SC State running attack which currently ranks in the Top 20 in the country with 199.2 yards per game on the ground. Not good news for a head coach Bill Curry and the Panthers defense which has been very leaky against the run this season.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>South Carolina State has played very up and down as well this year after injuries and inconsistent play defensively have pushed the Bulldogs into a 3-3 record. SC State starts Richard Cue in only his second career start at QB and offense rallied around him last week vs. NC Central en route to a 49-38 victory. The Bulldogs will also lean heavily on RB Asheton Jordan who has accounted for 367 yards rushing this season and an astounding 6.6 yards per carry.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>There are times in college football when things do not make sense. Things go unexplained. Players rise from adversity and play their guts out. I believe that this happens on the road for the Panthers in a desperately needed win on Saturday.</div>
