<p>Breakdowns in the kicking game enabled Georgia Southern to hang on to a 14-12 victory over The Citadel who had two extra points blocked and missed a 37 yard field goal with just over four minutes remaining in the game that would have given them the lead. </p>
<p>The Citadel got on the board first when <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="#">Darien Robinson</a> scampered 26 yards for a touchdown. Ryan Sellers' extra point was blocked and the lead was just 6-0. Georgia Southern answered back on their next play from scrimmage when Jaybo Shaw found Darreion Robinson for a 63 yard scoring strike. The point after was good and the Eagles led 7-6. </p>
<p>The Citadel once again took the lead after an 82 yard drive that led to a Aaron Miller scoring plunge. Once again the extra point was blocked and the lead was just 12-7. Georgia Southern regained the lead shortly before halftime with a Nico Hickey 14 yard touchdown run that capped off a 52 yard drive. The extra point gave the Eagles a 14-12 lead. </p>
<p>Jaybo Shaw finished with 129 yards passing with one touchdown and an interception. Robert Brown led the way on the ground with 90 yards on 17 carries. Darien Robinson led the Citadel on the ground with 92 yards on just nine carries. </p>

<p>The Eagles look to rebound from a tough loss last weekend in their homecoming game against The Citadel.</p> <p>The Georgia Southern Eagles will host The Citadel Bulldogs for the school's annual homecoming game on Nov. 5.</p>
<p>The Eagles, 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the Southern Conference, are one of the top ranked teams in FBS this season. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, are in the middle of the pack, 4-4 overall and 2-4 in conference.</p>
<p>Georgia Southern, after opening the season 7-0 with only one victory, against Chattanooga, less than 14 points, will try to rebound after falling to Appalachian State 24-17 last weekend.</p>
<p>The Citadel is best known for being one of the last colleges in the U.S. not to accept female cadets as well as a semi-fictionalized description of it in alumni Pat Conroy's award-winning book, which was later made into a movie, <i>The Lords of Discipline</i>.</p>
