The Atlanta Braves have been held scoreless for 20 consecutive innings and suffered back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2009 as they fell to the Baltimore Orioles 2-0 in Sunday's series finale.

Randall Delgado deserved a better fate as he drops to 4-7 after allowing three hits and two runs in eight innings of work. The first run came on a Mark Reynolds sacrifice fly in the second inning and the final run was balked home by Delgado in the sixth.

Wei-Yen Chen picks up the win for the Orioles allowing six hits and no runs in seven innings. Jim Johnson picked up his 20th save of the season with a perfect ninth.

Andrelton Simmons went 2 for 3 and had a dazzling play in the field but it was a forgettable day for the Braves offensively. Atlanta outhit Baltimore 7 to 4 but grounded into three double plays. Adam Jones went 2 for 3 for the Orioles and was robbed of his third hit by Simmons in the fourth.

Atlanta opens a three-game set with the Yankees in New York on Monday.

Brandon Beachy's injury has provided at least one more opportunity for Jair Jurrjens. Atlanta will call up Jurrjens on Thursday and he will start in place of Beachy Friday night at Fenway Park when the Braves open a three-game set with the Boston Red Sox.

Atlanta placed Beachy on the disabled list on Sunday and called up Todd Redmond to provide some depth in the bullpen in the meantime. It appears that Kris Medlen will remain in the bullpen despite being sent down to Gwinnett for two weeks to be stretched out as a starter.

Jurrjens hasn't exactly dominated at the Triple-A level and has been anything but consistent. In nine appearances with Gwinnett Jurrjens is 3-4 with a 5.27 ERA. He was 0-2 with a 9.37 ERA in four starts for the Braves before his demotion.

Jurrjens also gets the nod ahead of top prospect Julio Teheran who made a spot start in place of Tim Hudson for the Braves last week.

Like Brandon Beachy, O'Flaherty experienced some elbow soreness after a recent outing and the Braves shut him down for pretty much all of last week. He was originally scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Friday but was still experiencing soreness during the off day on Thursday. The team elected to move the bullpen session to Saturday to give him one more full day of rest.

O'Flaherty threw about 25 pitches in the session and reported no problems and could be available if needed on Sunday.

The Atlanta Braves will look for some offense after being one-hit by the Orioles' Jason Hammel on Saturday as the two teams close out a three-game set Sunday afternoon at Turner Field.

A Jason Heyward single in the seventh is the only thing that stood between Hammel and a no hitter.
