Former Atlanta Falcons defensive end Chris Doleman was inducted into the 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night alongside three others all-time greats. Doleman spent 15 years in the NFL with a short two-year stint with the Falcons in 1994-95. One of his eight Pro Bowl selections came with the Falcons in 1995.

During his induction speech, Doleman he went through a lot of thank you's -- which took up the majority of his speech -- that ranged from former teammates, coaches, friends and associates. Family was very important for Doleman who thanked his children multiple times, and family determined where he played college football.

Doleman had numerous college offers but he opted to stay close to home and attend Pittsburgh so that his family could travel and come see his him play college football.

He may have had one of the best lines of the night by saying, "Anything you want in life you can get through sacks."

Over at the mothership, SB Nation's Matt Ufford has some choice words for the selection committee and process for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This year's inductees include Falcons and Vikings great Chris Doleman, but don't have a single Super Bowl winner. Certain names - Cris Carter, Bill Parcells - are growing more and more noticeable from the Hall's annual snubs, but should that take away from the current inductees, like Doleman and the Jets' Curtis Martin? Check out the video below:

While the process of selection might be debatable, the fact Atlanta is sending its second consecutive player to the Hall is nothing but a good thing. Granted, Doleman started and ended his career as a Viking, but his role on the 1995 Falcons team was key in pushing that team to a then-rare playoff appearance, something Birds fans can now luckily take for granted.

Former Falcons linebacker Chris Doleman is one of six players who will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend in Canton, Ohio.

Former Falcons linebacker Chris Doleman is one of six players who will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend in Canton, Ohio.

Doleman played two seasons for the Falcons in 1994 and 1995. Most of his playing career was spent with the Minnesota Vikings, who drafted him in the first round in 1985. He spend his first nine seasons in Minnesota before coming to the Falcons. From Atlanta, he went to San Francisco and played three seasons with the 49ers before one final year with the Vikings in 1999.

He made eight Pro Bowls over his career, including with the Falcons in 1995. When he retired, he was No. 4 all-time in sacks with 150.5 and tied for third with eight seasons of at least 10 sacks. Perhaps most incredible, he missed just two games over his 15-year career.

Doleman and the other five former players will be enshrined in a ceremony at Fawcett Stadium on Saturday.

Chris Doleman made the 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame on his second attempt. Doleman played for the Falcons in the 1994 and 1995 seasons.

Former Atlanta Falcons defensive end Chris Doleman was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday in his second year of eligibility, becoming the fourth former Falcon to earn the honor, along with Deion Sanders, Eric Dickerson and Tommy McDonald (though most Falcons fans will likely still only claim Sanders). Doleman spent two seasons with the Falcons from 1994 to '95 and was selected to the 1995 Pro Bowl.

Doleman's career began in 1985 when he was the No. 4 overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings, and he earned various honors during his 15-year career. He was named to the 1990s NFL All-Decade team, an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and named to five All-Pro teams. Doleman also is fourth all-time in sacks, with 150.5 for his career.

Doleman was joined by five others in the 2012 class:
