Angel McCoughtry finally made some news on the court as she returned from a team-imposed suspension to score 18 of her 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Atlanta Dream knocked off the Connecticut Sun 87-80.

McCoughtry has been the story over the last week thanks to her suspension, but she reminded everyone today how much of a factor she can be on the court. McCoughtry didn't start, but found her rhythm in the fourth quarter and the Dream looked much more like their old selves than they have in a long time. McCoughtry finished with 24 points on 8-14 shooting. She also finished with three assists and two steals.

The Dream's twin towers inside of Sancho Lyttle and Erika de Souza both logged double-doubles in the game. Lyttle finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds while de Souza added 14 points and 12 boards. The duo did their best to control Connecticut's Tina Charles, who finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Kara Lawson led the Sun with 16 points.

Atlanta improves to 14-13 on the season and draws to within 5.5 games of the Sun in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Atlanta Dream face the Connecticut Sun for the second time this season, looking for much different results.

The Atlanta Dream try to improve their record to above .500 when they host the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. This is a rematch of the opening round of last year's playoffs when the Dream made it all the way to the Finals. But this season, it's the Sun leading the Eastern Conference.

Connecticut defeated Atlanta by 19 points in the earlier meeting this season between these teams. The Dream are going to be without their leading scorer this time, since Angel McCoughtry has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.

McCoughtry scored a game-high 23 points in the loss to Connecticut earlier this season. The Dream are going to rely on Sancho Lyttle to carry the team in McCoughtry's absence.
